Affordable Mastering for the Home Studio

In this video, I demonstrate how to use a sound editor to master a track using nothing but bundled plug-ins. Effects used include parametric EQ, multi-band compression, stereo expansion and hard limiting. These could be combined with other effects (tube compressor, very slight reverb, etc.) or used in a different order. This is just one of many ways to affordably sweeten up your tracks and get them ready for distribution.

Shouldn't there be safety silence (for CD-players etc) of 0.6s added in the beginning?

@niggasingh Mixing combines the many tracks into one stereo file, applying EQ, dynamics and effects as necessary. Mastering takes the mix and works on the overall EQ and dynamics to get it ready for distribution (radio, CD, iTunes, etc.). Often, this involved increasing loudness.
