@soccerstud03427 I do agree that he taps a lot and greatly uses the wah, but I'll tell you this; tapping won't get you famous. Hammett earned his place within shredders of the metal empire, and he was known WAY before Guitar Hero.
He might tap and stomp that wah a lot, but he's got the chops, and some mad shredding skills, and remember; not only did he help Metallica become one of "The Big Four" of thrash, but also helped them become one of the most influential metal bands in metal history.

I love this version!! I always remember a mate getting a copy before Reload was released (think it was memory remains singleb-side) and recorded it - listened to it non-stop for weeks before the album came - the lyrics on the album version always just sound wrong to me lol.
Plus he sings this version so much better - the way he says "ooooh on i burn - fuel is pumping engines!" is soo much better.
Can't fight the need for speed....love it :-)
