  • Hi, the vets did an mri scan on beverly last february, they think it is a type of epilepsy but neurology in dogs seems to be in it's infancy. they managed to exclude a tumour though. The scan cost 2500 pounds but i got it back on the insurance. She is now on phenobarbitone and is without symptoms. Maybe this helps? She was never in pain and the fits never got worse than what you see in the clip.

    Good luck!

  • did you ever find out what it is? My moms border collie is doing something ilke this... staring in teh paw as spasms... when you hold the foot do you feel the muscle main tendon spasming? I am doing research, hoping to help find a way to help them. I am looking into feeding them IICARIN and such from Epemedium Grandiflorum ,horney goat weed. It has nerve healing components and antivirral and antibacterial nerve preserving component im sure its toxin or parasite or GM food.

  • I have a 10 year old male Chihuahua that has started doing this, only it is much worse. He's in a lot of pain when these happen, & they have been happening twice a day, morning and evening. Heat seems to bring them on, excitement seems to bring them on, & he was having loud stomach noises for a month before he started the cramping. I'm not getting much out of my vets; at least 4 have seen him so far. Even the Border Terrier people don't want to help, because he isn't a border terrier.

  • poor little sweetie. I hadn't heard about this disorder before. Wow. Thanks for posting.
