Exactly. I mean Robert M. Price does make a good point on the positive merits of Christianity, but they are few when compared to the negative and irrational aspects.
I know what you mean, I should have phrased myself better. Of course, skepticism should still be applied to "meditation" and when you look at Buddhism, the practical things are quite few, and really are the same with the practical things that come with Christianity. Buddhism is really no different from all the other world religions.
I do read it on occasion; I aught to set aside some time to read it through completely. But it doesn't really give convincing arguments for belief... merely consequences for disbelief. And as I've said before divine threats are only effective if you already believe God exists.
No kidding? I assumed he stayed an Atheist the rest of his life. But my point is that we can share many views with people and still disagree strongly on others.
It still seems that Sam Harris is one of those atheist that needs spirituality, which in my opinion is just stupid. It also seems that he takes what he likes from Buddhism and throws away the rest, like Liberal Christians.
I didn't mean that the supernatural religion thingie called Buddhism is practical, more some of its meditation and introspection techniques can be. For example, I found being suspended by hooks through my flesh an amazing mind expanding experience, but that doesn't mean I suddenly believe in all the magical stuff associated with the Sioux sun dance.

Interesting; have you seen Dawkins reading out his new intro to the God Delusion? Some of it is on YouTube under "I'm an Atheist BUT..." (IIRC).
