@VyCanisMajorisCSA It takes 6-12 months to get handgun permit here in New York. It's bullshit. The things you go through to get the permit could probably be done in about 3-4 weeks. It's the politician's way of keeping you from getting a handgun. They can't ban them, so they make it so hard to get them that you won't want to go through all the bullshit and be discouraged from getting the gun. We don't need a permit for a rifle or shotgun (unless you live in NYC, thank god I don't).

Here you can own a gun, but it take half of a lifespan to get a permit and a price of a handgun or a rifle/shotgun is unbelievable... I think you are aware of the crime rates in Brazil...

@VyCanisMajorisCSA I wish I could help you guys out down there. I live in stupid fucking New York. They always attack our rights here. We have shitty laws in New York, but they aren't extremely bad like in Canada or the UK. I hate when people play the fucking need game. "Why do you need a gun? Guns should be banned." I need a gun to go sport shooting or shoot up some guy who tries to come into my house in the middle of the night. If someone assaulted you, would you rather have a gun or a phone ?

Yes its sad to hear the majority of students here that disagree with the new law don't really know much about guns, laws, and crime. They are going by what the perception is and not the facts. First off, guns and alcohol are not being mixed since it is still illegal to consume alcohol while carrying a concealed handgun with a permit. And saying guns aren't needed in parks is irrelevant since u don't "need" a gun 95% of the time but nobody knows when he/she will be attacked so it is needed.

We should all be armed all of the time. It makes me sick to hear a few of these kids "because like guns are like dangerous" for once id like to hear one of these youths say "you know I've never really researched this issue and I would like to do so before I make a statement one way or the other." Its ok to not have an opinion if you don't know or care to know the facts about an issue.

That's interesting. I'm a bit surprised though that none stated the fact that we can't presently take our guns into any restaurant which serves alcohol by the drink.
