Lightnin' Charlie and the Upsetters - Live on Beale Street, Memphis, TN 1992

Early Lightnin' Charlie and the Upsetters, circa 1992. This video was shot by a Hoosier named Vic Buchanan who hadn't heard Lightnin' Charlie, but had heard lots of people talking about him, his dynamic stage show, and his affinity for Stevie Ray, all around Memphis (hence Vic saying upon walking into the club, "It's that guy!"). LC later became dear friends with Vic, his wife Kerri, and the rest of the Indy gang (love ya' Crazy Geno!). Here is a rare glimpse of young and yet-to-be-recorded Lightnin' Charlie doing what he does best - tearing up the blues. Larry Davis and SRV's "Texas Flood", Guitar Jr. (Lonnie Brooks) and the Fabulous Thunderbirds' "The Crawl", and Otis Rush's "All Your Love (I Miss Loving)" are included here. Enjoy!

Awesome. Used to hang in Bristol at the old Jazz Club at the train station. Only went to see them!!!! Even have a signed copy of their first CD that I will treasure forever!!

this is the original upsetters , the same upsetters that used to upset the off shore back in the 90's for those who remember lightnin' charlie and the upsetters . just perfectly great ive always loved these guys and always will . charlie ur always in my heart and my prayers my friend . god bless you ! ...............
