Classic. Classic and underrated. To me this movie was ahead of it's time. The editing is superb and the story intense. Great character actors in this one and not one bad casting choice. Two of fav characters actors are in it. Clancy Brown is ALWAYS good and Larry B Scott despite the stigma of Revenge of the Nerds brings some believable seriousness. They both get greats death scenes. No good action movie collection would be complete without this movie.
Michael Ironside is a true badass! Nick Nolte owned this film, too, as the unstoppable Jack Benteen.
The Region 2 DVD I've got does this movie justice and is completely uncut.
When ITV first showed this in 1991 on a Bank Holiday Monday, it was cut to shreds, even though it was shown after 10.30pm! Like another poster said, it would have been because of Hungerford a few years earlier.
They used the score cue for "Rambo: First Blood Part II" because that film's music composer is Jerry Goldsmith. He composed the music for this movie as well and he didn't have a theme for the film composed yet.
