West Irondequoit School Board -PART 3 Taxes and Facts

The West Irondequoit School Board has spent $80,000,000 on buildings and expensive projects over the last 8 years while our results have dropped significantly. We have an 85% 4 year High School Graduation rate; now below Eastridge High School and on par with Gates Chili. Our district was once mentioned in unison with Pittsford and Brighton as one of the best in the country, but now we are ranked below most Suburban High Schools in
Monroe County. Our School Board refuses to show the Board meetings on TV and has a poor relationship with our teachers. This School Board was caught by the NYS Comptroller Audit division of hoarding and overtaxing $7,000,000 and in response made excuses. Shortly after being caught, they tried to pass a special vote to add another $10,000,000 to their slush fund during a major recession and were promptly voted down with a resounding 20% defeat. Common sense prevailed and citizens exercised their right to vote down this nonsense. The present School Board's aggressive and outrageous spending habits never end. The proposed windmill and solar panel projects were poorly planned ideas that had little educational value and had a payback term of 25 years.

Isn't it time for a balanced board? Isn't it time someone looked after your interests and focused on academic excellence?
