The opening sequence from Blueprint: Film Foundation's Pilgrim Fathers documentary. The film tells the story of the Pilgrim Fathers of the United States of America. The film was produced with the help of volunteers and local historians, and was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
I was involved in producing this and disagree with LoveJCForLife. We had 2 expert script advisors and a quick look online backs up our facts (OxfordDNB & Wikipedia's 'Pilgrim's Plymouth Colony' page were the first to pop up & confirm this). The film is about the Pilgrim Fathers who were Separatist Puritans (an important difference) and the key Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire groups that are being talked about in the film did not leave to Amsterdam until 1607 & 1608.

the problem with this intro is that is if is what the movie is based on them it is incredibly historically inaccurate.
For one thing by 1607 the Puritans who were to travel to what is now Boston (cape Cod) were in fact living in Holland.
Also the puritans didn't face religious persecution in England... By 1630 they practically ran the country. Ultimately this led to the English Civil war. Oliver Cromwell was a puritan..
What the sought in the colonies was to set up a new puritan state.
