I've been trying to learn to solo more horizontally, and this video is SO helpful. Thank you much.

@playguitarsolos - it's not abnormal for a producer to speed up a mix to give it more energy. This was done on Bruce Springsteens 'born in the usa' final mix. maybe it's done here as well.

Thanks buddy. Great solo. Not that I can play it ... yet:)

Elliot Easton was Berkley trained and it shows. One of my favorites creative players. Great job man. I could have sworn I saw him play it in E live.

@userboy6 - The song is the in the Key of F. The I, IV and V chords, as you mentioned (F, Bb, and C). The way it's arranged, it similar to a blues form, except the aforementioned chords are major instead of dominant. Without really sitting down to transcribe & analyze the solo and harmony, it sounds like the solo is based on major pentatonic scales for each the IV & V chords (Bb maj pent and C maj pent) and then based an F minor pentatonic scale to finish the solo.

Thanks much for posting this. I've had a hard time with this for years because that whole rockabilly style is like sideways to me...if you get into the habit of doing traditional blue-type bends and double stops this is like another language;-) Thanks again!

Awesome. Thanks for this - I've wanted to be able to play this solo since the late 70s. :D
it sounds to me like the song is written in the key of F(F, Bb, C) and Elliots solo is in the minor third or key of Ab, any opinions?

@userboy6 Yes I think when I figured it out I remember considering doing it in F as well, as that seemed to be where it was. The signature lick though with the rolloffs sounds like something done with the open strings, so I tuned up and did it in E, figured maybe they were tuned up for that. Very likely it's in F though.. all you would have to do is play each note on the video up one fret, and you'd have it.
