After leaving Zabriskie Point and going to the Visitor Center in Furnace Creek, I drove south towards Badwater, stopping at Devil's Golf Course (where it was completely silent) and Badwater then Artists' Drive on my way back. I stopped at the Harmony Borax Works and then to the Keane Wonder Mine before arriving in Beatty for the night. Unfortunately I got some schmootz on the lens and didn't notice it until I got back to Boston.. Oh well..

  • We are spending four days in vegas soon . and renting a car .. my plan is to leave . .quite early .. take the scenic drive.. to shoshone . down the hill

into the badwater area .. =. try to see some of the saltflats . and devils golfcourse as well as some ghost towns.. however . I am still a little uncertain .. when it comes to just how long of a drive this is .. as we are staying in Vegas .. any idea of how long a round trip is ... and the time involved .. ? any tips ?? thanks steve

  • @Scuzzoe I would say take a whole day or more. Death Valley is deceptively huge. I would recommend going in through Death Valley Junction on CA 190 and then head north towards Furnace Creek. From there you can go down to Badwater, then back towards Furnace Creek, up to the Stovepipe Wells area then exit over the Funeral Mountains towards Beatty, NV, which is about 2 hours north of Vegas. If you exit through Beatty, be sure to stop by the ghost town of Rhyolite. It's really cool! Have fun!

  • Im taking a geology field trip out there in march...I have to pick 6-8 stops and write a 15 page report/guided tour. This video helped me choose some places......Im excited to see death valley. Thank you

  • Great! Glad I could help. It's one of my favorite places so far. I've been back since I took this video. I'll post video of that in the coming weeks.

    for the environment :D

  • Enjoy it! It's a great, fascinating place. I've been back since this vidoe was made and will probably go back again. I have yet to post the videos from my latest trip though. What you hear at 3:55 is the song "Stroke of Luck" by Garbage from their "Garbage" album.

  • @narutochaos3 you just have to be there. No pictures and videos will justify the beauty that piece of desert can offer. It can offer incredible views, specialy during sunrise or sunset. The colors make you feel like you are on another planet.
