Quite possibly my favorite John Sutherland cartoon! In this golden nugget of a toon, Martian dissidents learn that oil and competition are the two things that make America great. Mars is, of course, the RED planet, a complete totalitarian state, and once they get a taste of the good ol' fashioned American market economy (and cheap oil), they tear it up! Oh that oil! Completely unbiased. Presented by the Oil Industry Information Committee of the American Petroleum Institute.

Nice propaganda. What competition? Yes, there are a ton of petro service stations, but all of them buy their products from one source, then pricing the products similarly with 1 or 2 cent difference. Competition is only an illusion that brings about the cruelest form(s) of monoply and authoritarianism.

And apparently, Martians have vehicles that fly through space fantastically but they can't make a car on land work right. My, this film is a goldmine of information.

Ahhh the good ole days. if only there was a way to time warp back to that time and live. It was not perfect and I would have to give up modern conveniences like the a/c and internet and computers, but man would the quality of life be better!

DESTINATION UNLIMITED???? Were already depleated our Petro supplies, what about air,hydro,sun & other sources for energy. Now that would be "destination unlimited for "other" energy sources!
