  • They're limited are'nt they..? Was driving an 316 CDI a few years ago, job related.. It seemed to be limited to around 150-160 Km/h.. But it got there pretty quick

  • I think it depends on local laws, how fast it can go. This one was first limited at 90km/h, and now it can go around 130km/h.

  • @Drone696 I dont know about the 316 cdi but 313, 311 and 413 cdi are limited to 4100 revs, which gives you about 155 km/h in fifth gear.

  • @Drone696 engine revs are timited, atleast to mine, an it does 150 km/h easy on ful cargo load ~1.25 tons

  • my father shift the speed into 5th gear on 120 km/h with 311cdi

the top speed with his car was 170 km/h or more, when the care was new :D

  • @guitigefilmpjes what did u do to make it go faster?i've got 2005 sprinter 2.7 l. limited at 80 mph.thanks for reply:)

  • @aidanlb

I never owned a automatic one, but i did read alot about them, and indeed they are nothing but trouble, so i can understand why you hate them.

Now i like the looks from the new sprinter more than the vw version and the transit, but that's a matter of personal taste ofcourse. Anyway, good luck with your

    transit.

  • @3DPeter Fair enough m8 I Just didnt like the Automatic one I suppose I was being a bit biased towards the manual version of the sprinter but the automatics are absalute pish! I'm driving a transit right now and its brilliant looks fantastic compared to the sprinter and the crafter but I must say the best van I have had is definetley the Mercedes Sprinter but it was a 57 plate , brilliant van was perfect.

  • @aidanlb

I never had such a good and reliable vehicle as this sprinter, and i wouldn't

even think about to change it for a model from 2000 until 2006, because they have smaller engines, and i believe that bigger engines last longer than smaller engines, because those smaller engines have to work harder, so they wear out faster than bigger engines.

  • @aidanlb

Further i had only minor things like a broken speedometer, a radiator,

2 balljoints from the front suspension arms, and the electric fan motor from

the interior heater, and a set of new glow plugs. All together it's almost nothing

in 15 years, so for me only Mercedes.

  • @aidanlb

That depends on witch model you have. I have a 95' 312, and those have the best and strongest engines from all old models. The engine had a broken head gasket once, but that's a common problem for these engines, because the original gaskets have a weak point. this week i'm going to change the original clutch, because it's done, but that's normal after 15 years, and pulling heavy trailers.

  • the old sprinter is terrible i had one and especially if u have a automatic one now i have a new volkswagen crafter manual panel van and its the Long high top its brilliant compared to that hudgy, the crafter is fast but very slow taking off
