I added subtitles to Corbijn's interview. This clip is part 1. Thanks to Remko (Remko uploaded part 2).

  • What show is this from and what year is it from?

    Thanks.

  • @lilyfan77 It's from Cannes Film Festival 2007, where Control was the first film to be shown IIRC.

  • Is this Dutch?

  • Yes, it is.

  • How come "his english is a bit better than his dutch"? I mean he`s dutch, for Christ` s sake. How can he forget his own language.

  • True, but if you've lived in the UK for almost 30 years and have spoken English on a daily basis for so long, I guess it's easy to mess up a few words when you do speak in your first language again. Some people might even develop a slight English accent.

  • When I was 16 I listened allways to Joy Division. Now 20 years later it still makes me want to cry when I listen to it.

I'm going to see the movie soon.

    Thank Corbijn for this movie

  • I watched the movie last night, and I would say that it was a good film, and it made me more interested in Joy division's music, it made me really HATE Ian Curtis! If the portrayal was really accurate, then Curtis was a self-absorbed, self-obsessed, self-pitying, sniveling little cunt, and a shit father. I felt sorry for his wife and child and not a bit for him.

  • @UltimateVenom I know the feeling. Partly its like German, partly like English. And I understand both. :D

  • dutch is strange cos i can sort of understand it without learning it.

  • Thanks for subtitling it, it was interesting.

  • Corbijn did an impressive job in this film. beautiful cinematography!
