I just have to visit Colditz one day. The whole story just fascinates me a lot. I've seen the Colditz TV series twice (it's out on DVD at last), great stuff. Funny thing is all of this happened more than 40 years before I was born ('87)!

I was fortunate enough to meet Major Pat Reed when he visited our school in the early 1970s to talk about his experiences. Our maths teacher was an ex Battle of Britain fighter pilot. When the maths became difficult or boring someone would ask Sir to tell us about the time he shot down the Jerry! He would regale us with his exploits! Very interesting video. Thanks

Thoroughly enjoyed your film and sat riveted from beginning to end. Like yourself, I`ve always wanted to visit Colditz and for about the same length of time...will definitely be heading over to experience it within the next year or two.

I`m not sure if it`s documented in enough detail, but I`d have liked to have the exact route followed by the 4 escapees in another documentary.

Great little insight Mike, the castle has always interested me, I had the Escape from Colditz board game as a child (and recently found it again), also read Pat Reids book over and over, would dearly love to visit it one day and take it all in, thankyou

Oh, you mean as a sort of revenge when your evil racist Empire thorougly wrecked the German economy in the 1920ies, by invading and killing unarmed people during peace, causing civil wars in Germany, mass-poverty, economic collapse and hyperinflation which made people lose all their savings?

I've been to Sachsenhausen where there were British prisoner who were forced to make fake English money which the Nazis used to try to reck our economy.

Colditz would be a very interesting place to visit. :-)
