The busy morning rush well under way at Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre Station in Eastern Contra Costa County, as a 10-car Montgomery train pulls into Platform 2.
The Montgomery train is BART's morning commute or peak-hour special, which runs exclusively on the Pittsburg/Bay Point line four times a day Monday through Friday during the 6-7am hour only. Pleasant Hill is the first stop for three of these trains, with the fourth and final one beginning one stop before at Concord Station.
Unlike their San Francisco/SFO Airport counterparts, all four Montgomery trains only go two stations deep into San Francisco, before terminating. They then turn around for the return trip to Eastern Contra Costa County and Concord Station. Upon arrival in Concord, all four become San Francisco/Daly City trains headed for Daly City. These same four trains later in the day become part of the special evening peak-hour commute service for passengers traveling out of San Francisco in the Pittsburg/Bay Point direction.
This is the first-ever full-length YouTube clip of BART's Montgomery train.
I'm just surprised that the Daktronics signs do not flash SAN FRANCISCO/MONTGOMERY like they do with all SF-bound trains. Nice job!
