Mel Martin and the Benny Carter All Star Tribute Band

The Benny Carter Tribute Band was formed by Mel Martin to pay tribute to the great Benny Carter on his centennial anniversary. August 8, 2007. The Jazzed Media recording of the Mel Martin/Benny Carter Quintet, "Just Friends" was released on July 10, 2007. The principal musicians were all involved on a musical and personal level with Benny Carter and the band's mission is to perform his music and music closely associated with him. The band will continue to offer the music and spirit of Benny Carter.
