That is very close to Spahn Ranch but not the actual site. Thar actual location is just to the right of the gate. It's a small open field. You will see a burnt pole in the ground. That was burnt when the ranch caught fire in 1970 by mysterious means.

I was there two days ago ! found a piece of the stables from spahn ranch, and it was a little burnt from the fire in the 70s that burnt the ranch down !

The road turning onto Santa Susana from Topanga was built about a decade or so ago. The way the family would have gone was from what is now called "Old Santa Suana Pass" just down the hill. If you watch Hendrickson's latest you'll see them actually taking that route.
