My son has asthma & no insurance. Due to needing medication that only the ambulance provided a 9 minute ambulance ride cost $994.00. I'd be thrilled to have a plan I could both pay into & afford, private is around $400-$600 a month. Ouch. CANADA ANYONE? lol On the bright side :) maybe he'll grow up to commit crime.. criminals get decent health care! {sarcasm}

Only a strong public option can reign in the powerful lobby groups funded by the health care "industry" (I put that in parentheses cos insurance grabs 20% in overhead including fat cat salaries and actually produces zero health care).
Its these lobby groups that pay off the politicians. The politicians MUST be held to account.

@Learnthetruth100 True yet the majority of american voted for them I can't comprehend why people are so stupid. Actually yes I can Fox News helped warp the minds of many idiots into voting for the GOP. We are doomed again by the same people that started this mess the Republicans, Independents, Conservatives, Liberals. How can one trust anyone even some Democrats are stupid like wanting to help illegal immagrants who are taking all the labor jobs become legal.

It's rather obvious Mr. Grassley cares more about the wealth of his corporate "benefactors" than the health & welfare of his constituents.
I guess it's kind of hard to remember to honor one's oath of office when one is so busy laundering bribe money in hopes of making it look like campaign contributions.
It's time to revoke Mr. Grassley's government run health care insurance plan; and while we're at it, let's recall his senate seat, too.

Well, I am guessing that those that haven't used their insurance yet (even if it is employee provided) are not disappointed yet.

Yep. The tax equates to about 6 per cent of GDP. Taxpayer contributions in the US for Medicaid etc also 6 per cent of GDP. But Americans (people or employers) ALSO pay another 10 per cent of GDP as insurance, copays, deductibles. Its daylight robbery!

This morning on the news the Republicans said they are going to do everything they can to weaken the Public Option, to where it won't be any better than what we have right now. If you have a moderate or conservative Democrat as your representative I again urge you to contact them and tell them you support a STRONG Public Option. Otherwise this thing might get watered down. We probably won't have another chance to get this right for quite some time. Look how long its been since 1993.
Shame on you Senator.
Wednesday at your town hall on Health Care you lied like a filthy dog to your constituents regarding the so-called "Death Panel", implying to these ignorant, frightened senior citizens that the government could pull the plug on them at will.
You flat out lied sir. You have shown yourself to be firmly in the control of the major health insurance companies and that you don't give a real rat's ass about the average American.
You are a fear mongering, corporate whore, sir
