a http://www.hi10spro.cblogspot.com productions presents more volleys. this drill enforces the idea of catching, the chair also hinders the use of the arms going back, and promotes a unit turn.

  • @hi10spro lol well, it's true so it's ok to say it i guess xD

but yeah you're right, experience teaches a lot.. but there are some things about tennis that should be taught by a teacher, such as yourself.. thx man! i'll do these drills to prepare for intramurals

  • @kulazz this teaches you to read the spin and cancel out the topspin/slice--it's all about face angle. I had a year of group lessons, but you learn most by experience, watching tv, and my vids. :D :P sorry i had to plug it.

  • @hi10spro i see.. from experience i know that volleyers hit the ball straight to the net if the ball is returned to them with a spin and the volleyer returns that shot in a wrong angle.. does this drill help with that?

see, i didn't have proper training, my friends just taught me some stuff and i pretty much figured out things on my own especially by imitating the pros' movement and imitating players from virtua tennis lol

  • @kulazz it teaches you touch--if you can stop a ball coming to you and deflect it straight up into the air, then you are one step closer to hitting a drop volley, lob volley, or an angled volley--it's that split second calculation of the approaching ball angle and your racquet angle to make it go vertical. People who don't have any touch can't do this drill--these are what I call one speed volleyers--all you have to do is get the ball low to them, they'll hit straight into the net
