HD on FRAPS vs Camstudio

Basically Fraps can handle motion better than say Camstudio or Debut. In fact Fraps was designed originally for game recording with high frame rates and fast motion. Camstudio and Debut are two programs not even designed for motion. Even some Mac desktop recording software can't handle capturing video like Camtasia Studio for Mac as smooth. Debut screen recorder on it's own even idle is a CPU and memory hog, plus it being free doesn't help. Paid software usually has better support and able to improve performance, plus you have more developers on the payroll fixing problems. Camstudio isn't as I said great at capturing video even on the best of settings. It's not designed for it and thus why I continue to use Fraps, best $37 I've spent.

i hate how fraps saved them to 10gb files

i can have them but still

takes alot of time to load them to vegas

@OriGasmo Agree Fraps saving them in multiple 4GB files does suck. The reason it's like that because Fraps is a 32bit program and can only save uncompressed files in that size. If they ever make a 64bit version of Fraps then it will be one large file. It's rather quick for me to import Fraps video's to Windows Movie Maker.

Does fraps work for a macbook pro

@xosporty4 You would need Windows installed on the Macbook since Fraps uses DirectX. Screenflow would be a good alternative if you wanted it to only use OSX.

What kind of computer do you have?

@tweakedculture1 PC, Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo @ 3Ghz, 4GB of RAM, and now a Radeon 6800. The time of this video I had the Radeon 3870.

hey how come when i record with camstudio the color is like greenish does anyone know how to fix this?

Fraps sounds pretty good then. With CamStudio it does kind of lag but I figure its because of the fps it runs on.
