Danish Bacon- Spinning Head

Well, here it is folks. The advert I've been searching for for 8 years. The ad that made me cry. The ad that made my mother and 200 other mothers complain to channel 4 which led to its removal. Finnaly, thanks to James Madge of thereel.net, the holy grail has been found. And was I as scared as before? Did my childhood trauma return to haunt me forever?

Well.......no.

Clearly, this ad is not QUITE as scary as I remember. Sure, its creepy and unsettling, and you wouldent wanna watch it with the lights off. But it dosent terify me AT ALL the way it did in 2000. Maybe this is a good example of age beating fear, or some pretentious theory like that.

That fairground music was apparantly added on after the complaints were upheld. However, this just succeded in making it twice as shitting scary to kids. This must be the second version. Which means I'd love to see what the first version looked like. I actually cant remember which one I saw all those years ago.

I was orginally going to place this in the top spot of my Amazingly Popular 10 scariest PIF's/adverts video. However, I have decided against that now, on the grounds that for me personally, the ad has lost its impact. They always say the hunt is more exciting then the reward. I feel like Del Boy in that episode of Only Fools And Horses, when he finnaly becomes a millionaire. He discovers the possibly was more exciting then the reality.

Right......think thats it. Thats one chapter of my life over.................Think I'll go look for the ark of the covanent now.
