I'm going ice riding and this is the tires I'm going to use, videos from the actual riding is coming soon. I'm using a standard dirt tire up front that I fit with Kold Kutter Ice screws, this makes a really cheap tire that grips ice pretty good, not so good if you ride on anything other than ice since the screws wear out fast on dirt, my rear tire is a Michelin factory studded tire, mine is used but that doesn't matter, these tires are expensive new.

  • why the hell you put screws... they are shit, just buy real snow tires

  • @oklofobloo have you even tried them? I've ridden with real studded trellies, pirellies and michelins before and I can say without a doubt that koldkutters are FAR more superior on clear ice.

bring some knowledge before you talk out of your ass.

  • @TheBluePills I have tried them... I dont come to argue without knowing anything ... I have michelins.... something (made for enduro anyway) the studs are like 1,2 cm long.. they are good but i tried the ice screws and i think they suck.... No traction at all and i lost like half of them in one riding session... but im pretty sure theres big differences between them. (just like any tires) So dunno about those.

  • @oklofobloo you do realize that the genuine koldkutters are for clear ice only? they are not designed to be used on any other surface, I say this in the description of the vid too.

on clear ice they offer SUPERIOR grip over regular studded tires, you do however need to place the screws properly, and have enough of them, and on a big-bore bike you need longer threads if you mount them in the rear tire.

the tires are only as good as you make it, make a crap pattern and the grip sucks.

  • how do they work on ice? kold kutters i mean

  • @HeiHopsa I'm sorry for an extremely late reply.

the koldkutters work awsome in a front tire, havent tested on a rear yet.

they are cheap, they have more grip on clear ice than a regular stud, and you can replace them if they get dull.

they wear fast if you ride snow covered trails though, I recommend them for ice riding only.
