AFN National Chief Phil Fontaine makes a passionate address to the Canadian Club of Ottawa about the desperate situation faced by many First Nations communities. In part 2 Fontaine talks about violence against First Nations women, including Kelly Morrisseau, a mother of 3 who was 7 months pregnant when she was stabbed to death near Ottawa. "So where is the public outcry about the loss of Kelly Morrisseau especially now with the Picton trial underway in British Columbia. It is estimated that more than 500 First Nations women have disappeared or died violently in the past 30 years." Fontaine also talks about the development of the Kelowna Accord and the Conservative government's reneging on the plan.
