One of my favorite Billy Murray songs! Thanks

Other than this recording by Billy Murray, the only recording I know of for this song was by the Hoosier Hotshots in 1939--and that also was a doozy, as the song's listeners might have said.

@musicmandon1 Thanks for the comments. I'm sure that I have other artists as well on early recordings doing this song but by Al Jolson at the time this sheet music was printed? I'd have to see that record to believe it.

people ahve forgotten already how it was in the very beginninig of the automoblie but than somethings have never changed either you still ahve to do this on occsion even today
but in the r eraly days before many of the roads were ver paved you ahd to do this a great f dela more of the time thus songs like this did describe how it was in the beginning ah the early days of the automobile

This song was also mentioned on a Nova special dealing with the brain and memory. An former actress was talking about remembering this song playing on a gramaphone as a little girl. All she could remember was the partial refrain, "Get out and get under...."

@Alphonsus0di0Ligouri Interesting comment on Nova.... I have not seen that documentary yet - although my primary interest in that regard is with history documentaries. Thanks for your comments.
