When I restart the computer the resolution changes and the screen freezes. The freezing screen occurs every time I restart the computer after using it for over 20 minutes(after it warms up). The resolution change happens less frequently and to get out of it I need to perfrom a hard shutdown and then turn on the system again. All drivers and software has been updated via Thinkpad's System Update as shown.

***FIXED***

Lenovo Technician recently came over and replaced my machine's motherboard. That did the trick.

  • i mean when i try to change it, it doesnt change to what i want it to. and the resolution bar only has one option its 640 by 480. what's wrong???

  • So you are in Windows XP and go to display settings and only have one option for the resolution? I would guess that you need to install video drivers for your machine's video card. Once you have done so, you will be able to adjust resolution settings. For the best results be sure to see what resolution setting your monitor works best at.

  • what if i tried to change the resoloution it wont change i dont know why

  • What do you mean? When are you changing the resolution and what exactly is going on with your computer?

  • Yeah, it is in the video description. I had a tech come over to my place to replace the motherboard. Luckily my machine was still in warranty. Let me know if you have more questions about this.
