Security Essentials Ultimate Pack and My Attempts to Remove It

Today I look at a fresh new rogue, and try to remove it on the spot.


Manual Removal Guide:
1. Open Task Manager and kill SecEls.exe
2. Open Regedit and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
3. Clear whatever is in the "Shell" key and replace it with "explorer.exe" (no quotes)
4. In Explorer, navigate to C:\ProgramData\ and delete the Security Essential Ultimate Pack folder
5. Download and run a full scan with MBAM from here: http://malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php
