A beautiful piece, a fine performance. I love the sound of the cello, it's very rich and deep. An excellent instrument, very well played.

I think this version is terrible. Too fast and cold. The accoustics are terrible, from the beginning it feels like 'banging on the door', also strange ritenutos and 'wipes', while I think it should start sincere, soft yet punctual. The spot where the cello and violin have to add an extra dimension of emotion they 'moo like a cow' a bit too much. In the happy piece the string and chello make weird 'wipes'. I'm not too picky on music, but I think this version is off, aswell as barry lyndons.

i love this interpretation. i am interested in the reason why schubert wrote this piece. do you know why? and the progression. in the opening there is certain kind of heaviness and that marching theme recurs and reprises. i am wondering whether there are theories why schubert do that? in what state of mind and to whom he wrote this?

For me it's a bit like Rigoletto character - a kind of sad joker... That's how I feel that.
