When Democrats wanted to insure Americans and the Republicans and right-wingers screamed SOCIALISM!, the Democrats backed off of doing ANYTHING, especially helping the poor.
What is the lesson here?

I have to say the one good thing about Bush/Cheney is that they were upfront about the reality of America and don't lie and put on a charade pretending to care, like the new administration, who is doing all the same things as the old one but lies instead of just saying "so" because the outcome is the same or worse.
