The Gods Aren't Angry

Where did the first caveman or cavewoman get the idea that somebody, somewhere existed who needed to be worshiped, appeased, and followed? And how did the idea evolve that if you didn't say, do, or offer the right things, this being would be upset, agitated, or even angry with you? Where did religion come from?

All of that is irrelevant. He is making a point, not dictating history. Jesus spoke in parables (which is essentially what Rob Bell is doing). Furthermore, lots of people called Jesus a heretic too... be careful who you right off as heretical. You're close mindedness may keep you from hearing some very profound truths. Guaranteed, Rob Bell is has far more education & Biblical knowledge that the majority of society. Maybe you should walk in his shoes before you judge him so critically.

Typical 'chronological snobbery' that sees ourselves as the most advanced people ever. Where is there any evidence for what he says here? Lots of conjecture to back up the story he is imposing on history.
