Mayor Bloomberg got the City Council to overturn term-limits, even though New Yorkers voted for them twice. Exactly, WHY do we need him so much? Is NYC better off since he took office? Should Billionaires be above the law?

We need to Stop Mayor Bloomberg

  • The second phase of Children First involved

    5. restructuring the system, changing how schools are operated and supported, and

    6. giving principals greater control over how they run their schools while holding them accountable for results.

These initiatives have made a real difference for New York City students -- achievement is up, students and families have more and better choices, schools are safer, and principals are more empowered.

  • Do you have children in the NYC public school system? I made this video, and I ACTUALLY HAVE

TWO CHILDREN IN THIS SCHOOL SYSTEM who are trying not to get ulcers because of

    the high-stakes testing and high-stress

"admissions" processes for miiddle (!) & high schools. High-stakes testing will

never instill a love of learning in our students, so NYC will produce

cogs until we stop this. My smart, creative kids will hopefully have a different mayoral

choice when they vote 12 years from now...

    1. Taiwan 598

    2. South Korea 597

    3. Singapore 593

    4. Hong Kong 572

    5. Japan 570

    6. Hungary 517

    7. England 513

    8. Russia 512

    9. USA 508

  • A greater commitment is not a bad idea; some kids are getting no encouragement at home. However, my kids are, an my older child got the highest scores possible on both English and Math tests. So, this is not sour grapes. I think these tests take away from actual learning. If you want to produce adults who can take a test, but can't actually think or reason, then we're on the right track in NYC.

  • If Mike actually were a tyrant, do you think I would have just been the opportunity to vote for him? LOL!

  • I supported term limits because other politicians are so corrupt. But Mike is above all that!

  • O_O Ya know me lol wink wink

  • O_O Are you READY TO PAY UP? Something you wanna tell the room???

  • @gmcbuses Vote for Christine Quinn is just going to be a extension of Bloomberg's gentrification agenda. More hospitals being closed to make room for luxury condos, apartment buildings. She is 100% with Bloomberg.

  • @gmcbuses Future pay raises no more than 3 to 4%, maybe more depending on the economy. Rent increases would be done by inflation, actual costs going up, not to feed landlord profits. Government incentives, property tax abatements to encourage building housing, in low income neighborhoods.

  • @gmcbuses Huge amounts will be saved with my plan. Firefighters should not be laid off. 420 more should be hired, 12 more engine companies opened, 8 more ladder companies. 5 closed by Bloomberg reopened. Give cops and firefighters payraise of 7% to keep them on the job. 1% has to go to pay toward their pensions, other 1% health care. Rest of city workers raise of 5%. 1% has to go toward paying their pensions, other 1% healthcare. These both are problem areas bleeding the city immensely.

  • @gmcbuses Incredible amounts are being spent on pensions. Uniform service jobs, you should have to be on 27 years before you can retire. If someone retires because of a injury on the job. It should be on the job. Not falling off a ladder painting private house. They would work desk jobs if no longer physically fit to be in the field. Cop that starts at 24, could retire at 51, young enough to work in private security, or driving a bus, in addition to their pensions.

  • @gmcbuses Deskcops 50% of them should be in the street patrolling. Number 2 12,500 would patrol Manhatten, 7,000 in the Bronx, 8,000 in Brooklyn, 4,000 in Queens, 1,350 in Staten Island. 30% of them should be detectives undercover. A large amount is waisted on overtime. My plan is there would be huge numbers in problem areas permanent. They need to get rid of the you must retire at 62 law. If you pass the physical, good shape you could stay on the job.

  • @gmcbuses Another thing thing there will be everybody paying the same rent. No more people paying way under with they should be paying. Old people from 40 years ago paying no more than 400 a month, or less. Rates I"m talking about would be for 1 bedroom apartments. Section 8 will save massive amounts of money, and will be able to help way more people while spending less. Taxes should be lowered by, not waisting no more money on city time, cutting numbers of cops to 33,000.
