Arthur Lipsett |1962

Joys, happiness, sorry and anxiety pieced together from pieces of sound and images Lipsett collected while working at the Canadian National Film Board.

Stanley Kubrick described it as "one of the most imaginative and brilliant uses of the movie screen and soundtrack that I have ever seen."

  • Apparently your movie has upset the ignorant. God save us from the religious nutter. I love it.

  • @TelecasterLPGTop Undoubtedly.

  • Hmmm, seems like "The Emperor's New Clothes" to me. Someone says it is good and others say yay! Because they do not understand, but don't want to admit they do not understand.

I believe it to be crap and say so. It appears to be just disjointed and pointless as a drug induced addict's last acid trip.

It is crap. Do not fall for the propaganda of the "man behind the curtain."

Be an adult and use your own mind.

  • @Creaky1964 Or not. Opinions are just that. But an interesting comment...

  • @GOETHE1963 Easier to hate than to exercise perception. A film doesn't need to be narrative to be enjoyable.

  • Jeez, I remember now seeing this in Grade 5. It was one weird class made up of weird kids, one of those educational experiments of the '60s where nobody learned anything. They kept showing us films like this that made no sense, to "expose us" to avant garde things, like sticking a funnel in your brain to make you learn. We all watched it and didn't know what the hell it meant, then we all looked at Joey Amelia and Joey Amelia said, "That was. . . very nice. Very nice."

  • something from the last century when hope was one of the options

  • Think I'll roll a joint and watch it again. Might make more sense.

  • How did I get here. One minute I'm watching dance films from the 30s and 40s..the next I'm trying to figure out what's going on. What's going on? "Ohm. Bravo. Very nice. Very Nice"."There's nothing more enjoyable"

  • at the time this was made I was very young and profoundly ignorant and never worried about all this scary stuff because I somehow was led to believe the grownups were going to take care of it but they didn't and now I understand and now I'm depressed.

  • @ReadPsalms1 A postscript - We're all naked in the eyes of God.

  • PEOPLE TINK I'M SLOW IN DA HEAD, JUS' CAUSE AHM FROM CAHNAHDA!!
