I was a child during Manley's rule but from what I know of him, I think JA would have been better, if he had been given an opportunity to put forth his Democratic Socialism agenda. US acted as if it meant JA good but it didn't, as it flooded JA w/ weapons to kill Manley supporters & through it's multinational lending institutions, IMF & World Bank ruined the economy by forcing conditions on the country in exchange for loans.
