Beta attacking Platty

Today I bought some new fish for my aquarium, a few Corydoras and 2 plattys.
I allready had a Beta and a few guppys etc, so even though people tend to say that betas arent fit to live together with multiple other species, mine did just awesome, never touched any of my other fish.
The beta really doesnt like the platys I bought for my aquarium today, guess it has something to do with their bright color. I find this behaviour pretty strange though, especially looking at the Betas past of being a good companion for my other fish and all, so maybe its something else bugging him?

i guess i might know why, i think its because of the bright colors so they might think its the red betta.

@awytkidwit2lastnames Your not supposed to buy fish with logn fins or bright colors because the betta will mistake it for another retard.

i had the same issue my betta was fine and the i introduced some bright color fish and found one dead the next morning which was pretty depressing
