Multi-functional development for which we got a second prize in acompetition in 2006. Openness, the bustling city life and design innovation are the keywords in the 3XN proposal for a dense high-rise development in Dublin, comprising both residential, commercial and office spaces. A grand wave eddies rhythmically and energetically in a never ending figure of 8 on the site. The volume is one building divided into separate towers. The concept consists of well-known components put together in a new way. In a radical and sophisticated, though soft and friendly design, this building washes across the site in crested waves, generating striking landmark peaks. Verdant gardens, private terraces as well as large common roof gardens, help define the building. The Rainbow building has been programmed to teem with life around the clock sporting retail facilities at ground level, offices at the mid levels, and sports facilities and dwellings at the top.
