I agree with nightbladeeagle. I consider the first Actraiser to be one of the best games of all time and the sequel was terrible. I felt that way playing it as a kid and I still feel that way playing it again as an adult.
But the BIGGEST thing that bothers me is how the music doesn't cut off correctly when you dive down into a stage on the world map -_-

@TheSuperSNES I think one problem is that this game is a sequel to an easy game. As such, people expect this game to be easy as well (just as they expected it to include a sim mode.) Also, I myself found this game unplayable until I watched another person play it and learned a few tricks that are pretty much essential to beat this game. I don't think I would have figured those tricks out on my own for a very long time. After that though, the game was rather fun.
Do you have to make buildings again like act raiser 1?

Nope! AR2 is just an action game, which is why I love it so much. The simulation sequences in AR1 were just so....dull.

Yup! When you use the swordplant or dive attack, you are completely invulnerable until you hit the ground. Enemies, damage terrain, etc cannot hurt you until you touch solid ground again. It is the only reason this game is speed runnable at all. ^_^
