Marty Robbins Sings 'I Told The Brook.'

From a very hot period in Marty's career (1962) comes this ballad which was coupled with 'Sometimes I'm Tempted.'
The record sold well; 'I Told The Brook' reached the 81 spot while 'Tempted' made 109. It was a two sided hit and although you may think that the chart placings aren't that great, you must take into account the size of the US population.
To my knowledge this song has never appeared on any Columbia or Bear Family CD. It does appear on Marty's 'No Signs Of Loneliness Here', but is erroneously listed as 'Begging To You.'!
If my memory serves me correctly, the song was a hit in Australia for Billy Thorpe And The Aztecs.

This record was never released in the UK. Unfortunately most of Marty's hits were often covered by local singers which became hits even though they were vastly inferior to Marty's versions.

Thsi is the first song I remember by Marty that got my attention. His singing voice is so natural I doubt if he even had to practice for it to be a hit.
