At first glance, this would seem to me that the game did not transfer the broken property of the hammer after the transformation, just that you had a hammer in the first place. Definitely worth checking out at some point.

Yes, it is quite amazing, isn't it?
It happend to me another time with a Golden Squeaky Hammer. I had it mid transformation, and all of a sudden it acted like the REAL Golden Hammer!
Need;less to say, I was shocked.
