I'll be damned if that doesn't sound just like West African music !!!!
Saw Oregon back in late 80ies in Berkeley, CA; it was great.
Towner is a wonderful musician! BTW I got lot of Malian groove (& more even more Grateful Dead & Family) on my channel! Please visit if you are so enclined! Nice to see someone making the same international music connections.
i know it's 'a matchbook' -- i got 20/20 vision, i can see that for myself -- but when the clip was first posted, the poster had the name of the tune listed as 'matchbook' (title tune from a 1974 duo album with gary burton). 8 months agao i pointed out that the tune is in fact 'veldt' - which the OP responded to by changing the description appropriately.
nice ..
:-)
..you wonna see/hear something realy innovative - how to improvise classical music ?!
look for video : "bach sarabande jazz guitar"
or go to renatorozic dot com /audio/bach or audio/mozat..
..you ll be nicely surprised ..
