  • Not to mention Matt Harris's piano solo!

  • He is just such an outstanding bass tbone improviser

  • He plays on hell of a Lead Bone as well - re: Toshiko Akiyoshi 1970's Band for one example.

  • Bil has always been an outstanding musician ( we graduated from the same school, same class, etc.) but I'll always remember him best from Mrs. Gleason's 12th grade English class. Keep up the good work Bill!

  • Beautiful. I love it!

Little does the audience know... we (the band) all had our jaws on the floor while we were listening to this!

  • I like the range he played in. I dont think he played above the 2 ledger line F. The bass trombone as an improvisation instrument should use the same range as the bari sax-Down to around Db below the staff and Up to about Ab or A natural above the staff. Thats the range I use. Sometimes higher and sometimes lower. The trick is to be able to get fluid 8th's in the mid-low register of the horn similar to bari sax players.

  • He could've, but he didn't. Theres reason for that.

  • He should've lowered everything an octave--making it the true bass trombone potential

  • Whooo. Nice man! Great!
