  • A great episode....the series really picks up from here and on...LOVE this episode. This is actually what made love the Masters more than the other two series..well that might be too strong a statement, but loved this.

  • When Robotech aired in '85, American TV cartoons were bland and lacked intelligent stories. Violence and death were prohibited, and most action shows, like Transformers and G.I. Joe, were just half hour toy commercials. They had no depth or story arcs. And the character development was non-existant.

This series made a huge impact on me, not just because the animation was superior to anything on American TV, but also it's epic, cinematic story and drama.

  • @demoskunk Lol, I see ur point! Tho' I'm a hardcore 80's kid, and loved many of the cartoons of that time, I must say, Robotech really brought a slightly more indepth and somewhat grown up twist that SOME of the other 80's cartoons didn't have!

  • I've never seen in other anime or cartoons space battles like those in robotech , the music really helps to get you in the battle

  • I HATE Bowie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nova is a slut

  • They should have left the sound effects the same as in the original release. otherwise, it's good to see this again after so long

  • @sleepyhollow783 Thanks! I agree.

Star Blazers (Yamato) was the other Japanese show that had a lot of depth. Besides these two shows, the only other intelligent and badass action cartoon in the 80s was Galaxy Rangers and that was a collaboration between an American studio and a Japanese Studio (TMS, I think). It wasn't a serial, like Robotech and Star Blazers, but it was much edgier than any other American animated series.

It's good to hear other people appreciate this stuff :)

  • Out of all the characters in this series,Dante seems to be the inly one with sense.

  • @blazingkhalif2 Not too sure, but I think the remnant Zentadi are helping out Admiral Rick Hunter on the deep space mission mentioned at the end of the Macross series.

  • @demoskunk Still better than most anything developed today. Great comment!

  • @psycho2cool

I think he was trying to do us a favor and shoot Dana.
