  • Did this MD11 fly after this normally?

  • @tomomarujump

Yeah, this is pretty standard on an MD-11 especially on a cold day

  • Hi I work on the ramp at STN for Fedex (world's largest MD11 operator) -- the smokey start is the Pratt & Whitney engines - not sure why but they always do it! Sometimes quite spectacular to watch but usually just annoying (especially when stood down-wind)!!! I'll try and get some on vid, if I can get a camera airside! Good vid =)

  • Have fun trying to sneak a camera airside, you know what BAA are like!!!! ;-)

  • This is perfectly normal for an MD11, or indeed any older plane with Pratt & Whitney engines. Very cool to watch from here, but probably worrying for the passengers inside!

  • the driver of the pushback tug is really in a hurry ..

  • Fantastic Airplane .

    Well done Douglas

  • this pushback is very fast or not ?

  • dont like md 11 as a commercial airplane

  • you know its forbidden to film on a SECURED area on amsterdam airport?

  • @whufcburkett

Isn't it due to rests of fuel that remained in the engine which is burned on startup?

  • @voteforsocks45632

Almost all MD11s were sold to Cargo operaters in the last years due to its high resale prices. Maybe KLM now completely paid them off and are right now make money with it.

  • @whufcburkett

Except that these are GE engines ;-)

  • why does klm still use the md 11
