Saturday afternoon "Buck" left the North Houston Veterinary Clinic after a two day recovery from his eye surgery. According to Dr. Rainbow "Buck" still shows signs of pain but much less since the surgery. The eyes are healing but they still have a long way to go.

Dr. Rainbow said he is not quite sure of the vision yet but should know much better in a week or so.

Buck had two entry wounds in his left eye near the cornea and one in the right eye with part of the iris sticking out. Doctor Rainbow then went into the front part of the eye to clean out all of the blood that accumulated from the injury.

He did give Tami a little bit of a break. Instead of getting up every 2 hours to put drops in , it is now on the 6 and 8 hour mark.

Dr. Rainbow has practices both in Spring at North Houston Veterinary Specialists and in San Antonio at South Texas Veterinary Specialists. He specializes in ophthalmology.

I feel your pain. Our top male duck was got by what we think was a fox, rarely seen in the area but recently spotted. Don't want to hurt any living creature, but if it's to protect your pets/livelihood/personal safety there are hard decisions to make.

We're in the UK, don't yet have a licence for a gun that's powerful enough to cleanly kill anything bigger than a rabbit. My feeling is that if you have to do it then do it humanely, although trapping and rehoming is best.

The sad truth is that, an horrifically painful trauma like this can change an animal's personality. Perhaps he was feisty or even aggresive before, but it all comes down to the responsibility of his previous owner. Let's bring the response to them.

Buck has no owner right now, but is being cared for by a charity. It looks like no owner has come forward to claim him, that probably means that his original owner was the one who shot him.

Well let me put something out there I have 7 dogs running wild on my 400 acres. I have spoke with the owner no good. I have spoke with the local officials no go. They harass me my dog and the wild life they kill in a pack mentality. Am I to be condemned for killing them when they come into my yard and go after my dog? Not saying this dog needed to be shot but I know of 7 that are gonna get shot.
