UCF demonstrates best practices in all program areas, with strengths in the areas of nonprofit management curriculum, community service, internships/placement; and the development of community and institutional relationships. The AH Program at UCF receives strong support from all institutional levels, including the office of the President, the College of Health and Public Affairs, and the Department of Public Administration. In addition to promoting the AH Program at the annual Southeastern Conference for Public Administration (SeCOPA), the University of Central Florida seeks out Service Learning community partners, for whom students collect/compile data and complete professional projects. UCF offers an interdisciplinary 18 credit hour undergraduate minor which leads directly to certification. The minor is offered online, as well.

During the 2008-2009 school year, the UCF American Humanics Student Association implemented 7 fundraising projects (including an AH 5k Run and Mystery Dinner) and 5 community service projects (including a Special Olympics Car Wash and the Central Florida Regional Commission on Homelessness Survey). Last year, 27 AH students completed nonprofit internships, 30% of which were conducted at local affiliates of AH National Nonprofit Partners, such as the American Lung Association and America's Second Harvest. A strong Community Council composed of 24 members, including 5 National Nonprofit Partner organizations and many university representatives, interacts regularly with AH students.

American Humanics at UCF is led by Campus Director Dr. Stephanie Loudermilk Krick.

Student representatives from UCF will make a presentation to the Program Excellence Award Review Committee to compete for the Program Excellence Award.
