Travel with us in a ski gondola and "jeep" as we ascend Mount Etna in Sicily. Who would have thought there would have been this much snow in March. We could only make it to just below the summit to view the huge caldera. At a lower elevation we hiked down into an extinct caldera.

  • Very nice footage. I visited Mt. Etna last year during eruption and i also did some filming and i have uploaded some footage.

  • Thank you for your kind words. I guess it was exciting to see some action at Mount Etna. I saw your footage. Very nice.

  • I used to live in San Pietro Clarenza (below Nicolosi). I used to run up that bus road in the summer time with my Brittany Spaniel. Because the station above Nicolosi was not yet completely repaired (and there was another eruption in 2003), I used to ski at the other area to the North (Piano Provenzola? I cannot remember the name). What I do remember was that you stayed on the ski run or you would hit the sharp lava. I liked your video-brought nice memories. Sicilia is a wonderful place.

  • Thank you for your response. Yes, Sicily is a grand island. We hope to return soon.

  • Thankyou for sharing that. It looks amazing. Would love to go one day.

  • While the beginning of April was nice ... as you saw, it was cold. Summer might be better, but then the air fares are higher. Chissa (who knows)
