my friends 01 Ford V6 straightpiped on 90's doing a start-up and take off. the truck broke loose on takeoff, so the tranny shifted into 3rd so it took a while to rev out.

damn automatics. he wishes it had a 5 spd.
video was taken before Vibrant tips were installed.

  • why people put true duals on a v6 i'll never know. it makes the truck more sluggish and you lose power

  • @PitbullV6 Woke this one up a bit

who puts straight pipes on a V6 truck!?

I drive a V6 blazer but i ain't gonna put pipes on it

  • I have a 98 F150 4.2 V5 with stock resonators and cats and muffler just replaced with a 2.5" pipe. It's not crazy loud or sounds anything like this video...

  • Hey, does your truck have the 4 cats or rather 2 cats and 2 resonators on it? I have a 1998 f150 4.2 with stock everything except a 2.5" straight pipe where the muffler was. Mine sounds like a v8 until 3000rpm.

  • what size are the pipes? my boss has a 4.2 F150 he tows a trailer with, trying to get him to straight pipe it either keeping it single 2.5" or going divorced dual 2" pipes, i'd think with 2" pipes it would pop more than that, heard a few Rangers like that, they rasp and pop like crazy

  • shes got a bit of a rap wish i would have done that when i had mine but i just cut it off right at the cats

  • us guys with v6s like to make em sound good and loud, just cuz we aint got to compensate for anything with a big motor and truck dont hate

  • That sounds wicked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mcrissjr well there was no need to call me a faggot just because i like the way it sounds like a said im a V8 guy love the sound of a good ol V8

  • @joe98stang that's where you're wrong. i'm a 20 year old ASE Certified Master Tech. I built a Pinto with a 351 when i was 17. It was a quick little sleeper.

Don't get me wrong, i have nothing against V6s. I, like wierdo12400, own a Blazer and do like it for a daily driver. It has a 4.3L V6...can tow well for its size and grabs 19MPG. But that said, i wouldn't put pipes on it. Personal preference i guess, but i've never liked the sound of V6s with pipes...no 'rumble' to it.
