This is former senator Mike Gravel responding to my youtube debate submission with Barak Obama and John Edwards putting in their two cents as well.

And, just to be clear, I actually support Mike Gravel 100% and I personally agree with his statement. However, I was concerned about how other American's with different views might take it.

So don't think that I'm just trying to poke holes in Mike's views. I was just trying to set him up for an opportunity to give a very passionate and straight-forward answer which is something that the other candidates don't always do.

  • Hey John, I bet you didn't expect Gravel to come out and answer the question the way he did.

  • actually I did. Thats why I asked such a provocative question. I wanted to give him an excuse to get angry and show his passion because I thought it would turn more americans on to him.

  • Well, in that case, great job! When I first saw you ask the question, it seemed that you were being a jerk about it, but it all makes sense for what you were trying to do. Im glad, because that was by far the best response to a question any candidate gave during the Youtube debates. I love how he said thanks for the question, I don't get many of them, ha ha. Too bad the media never really gave him a chance, considering they didn't allow him in the last 3 or so debates.

  • In a way it worked but in a way it backfired. For some reason, the more honest he became as a candidate, the more the media hated him.

  • I cannot believe Democrats are about to choose OBAMA as their nominee! To all the Democratic delegates: You STILL have a chance to change your decision and vote for Gravel!

  • Sorry, but you totally came of as a pompous ass who was just trying to trap Gravel.

The other dems claim that the war is useless, but try to deny the obvious implications of this. Gravel actually speaks the truth...which is why he doesn't stand a chance in hell. The people want to be stroked and told everything will be okay no matter what without anything actually being done.

  • What was it like getting owned on national television?

  • are you people enjoying the puppet show?

  • The soldiers are diying in VAIN!

    Obama is a puppet

  • OUR SOLDIERS DIE IN VAIN!

  • hey gravel, can i have an ice creeng chrome as well?

  • The soldiers did not die in vain? What did their deaths acomplish?

  • My grandfather fought in that war as well. There are many vets as well that said it was a terrible decision. Whether our parents or people we known fought in a war does not make it in vain or a "worthy cause". You have to state your personal values and goals and evaluate what happened (as well as the history) and decide then.
