Knowing where a person lives hardly saves a life. The Adam Walsh Act and every law like it wastes BILLIONS of dollars nation wide while not saving a single life or even solving a single crime! Lets lay off a few more teachers while we waste billions on these stupid laws. Lets lay off a few more paramedics while we track teens sexting and having consensual sex. While we track people who committed a single misdemeanor decades ago that didn't involve a minor much less a child. GET REAL.

The sex registry is a joke. Only a small percent of registered offenders are deemed dangerous by the judicial system. A huge bulk of them are consensual,statutory cases , even 19 year olds with 16 year olds. Its all overblown,media hysteria. The cops need to start monitoring the real pedophiles and quit harrasing people who simply broke a law. Was Elvis a sex offender for marrying Priscilla at 14? Was he a public threat? I think not!! Grow up America,Europe is way more progressive on all this!!

The problem is that many sex offenders have committed non-violent crimes NOT involving molestation or rape at all! If you'd like proof of this, simply check any registry. The government overpunishes those who have committed the slightest sex crimes. You can be an SO for simply urinating in public or making one harassing phone call! There needs to be a distinction between violent and non-violent offenders, so the law can spend their efforts focusing on truly dangerous people.

PITTSVILLE -- 12-3-2007 Maryland State Police arrested a Wicomico County Sheriff's Office deputy Friday accused of sexually molesting two 10-year-old girls, Sheriff Mike Lewis said. Deputy 1st Class Charles McMichael, 35, of Salis-bury, was waiting to pick up his child outside Pittsville Elementary and Middle School Friday afternoon when police seized him, Lewis said. McMichael faces charges of child abuse and sex offenses and has been suspended without pay.
