This is the original version of "Believe In Me" referenced by Rick in the "Written In Rock" Anthology. To my knowledge it has never appeared on any of the Columbia released versions of the album, or the re-released CD from a few years back. The run time on those Columbia LP's reads 1:47, but the song actually runs much longer, nearly 4:00. According to RS, Columbia wanted to extend the song so they went back into the studio to re-record it. Evidently, the LP was initially released on Capitol and then pulled - the Capitol version actually contains the original version which can be heard on this video.

  • @groundhog713 thanks - i dont know why i made the connection to archie and jughead - must have been those saturday morning cartoon festivals and i confused them - after all it was over 30 years ago now. Sheesh. Thanks again

  • Yep. That came out around 1972-73, and I remember seeing that. He was a recurring character is was about a teacher who was a witch who traveled around with her students going on weird adventures. Mission:Magic was what it was called.

  • I love this..I watched this when I was 4 years old! I have to have this on DVD!!

  • Anyone remember the cartoon about 1980 - i think it was archie and jughead - rick springfield was a guest character - the song was "If you believe in magic your love will shine through"

Am i the only one in the worl who remembers it?

  • i dont suppose you could upload the song 'Liar' from this album, could you? I've had a hard time finding this song and i remember loving it many years ago and its been 20 years at least since i've heard it. if you can, i'd greatly appreciate it.

  • I had half this song on a transparent plastic promotional copy supplied by my brother who was a showbiz journalist in Melbourne in the early 1970s, it is possibly the loveliest combination of music and words the world has ever seen.
