What this unit allows you to do is store you hitch gear. Basically you can hang anything you can tow behind your vehicle whether it's a bicycle rack ball mount, cargo carrier or anything in between you can store it on the station right here. The unit comes with two dock blocks, basically these pins hold this bar into place and it holds the hitch gear where you want it. You can mount it here, here, or here and there's three slots on the bottom too. We'll show you how the assembly works to hold your gear. For instance you can start off with a ball mount assembly, it simply slides on and rests on this bar and won't go anywhere plus a clip for safety so it doesn't bounce off. We'll install a typical bicycle rack. That way you have it held up out of the way also. One thing you definitely have to do with this rack is that this rack does get bolted to your wall. We obviously don't have it bolted here for demonstration purposes. It does come with 4 lag screws plus the four mounting holes pre-drilled. The holes on the inside are 16 inches to match common studs on a garage. As you can see we used all two inch accessories on this rack, however, you can also you use an inch and a quarter accessories on this rack also you just have to add a separate dock block for that specific application. There are additions for an inch and a quarter as well as bike racks and other accessories with threaded inserts also. There you have it for the Boone docking station, part # BH92422.
